The Global Petroleum Show’s numbers were down, but Katch Kan continued its support of one of the largest such conventions in the world. About 15-hundred exhibitors displayed their wares at Calgary’s Stampede Park from June 7-9th. That is about 25% less than the best year ever – 2014.
Katch Kan still had a large presence showing off some of its newer equipment as well as proven gear like the Kelly Kan, which has a long and distinguished reputation of helping to protect the environment and rig workers.
Just under 45-thousand people registered for the three day event. A total of 92 countries were represented.
For the second year, the Global Petroleum Show handed out awards recognizing some of the industries top performers. The Founder, President and CEOÂ of Katch Kan, Quinn Holtby was honoured to be a finalist for the Leader of the Year award.
Holtby who has been honoured numerous times for his work and products, couldn’t help but notice a growing trend a this years GPS. Â Equipment geared towards protecting the environment is taking up more space on the showroom floor and renewable energy technology has found its place at GPS as well.
Holtby who was interviewed by Global News says he likes the show’s new focus, especially when it comes to clean technology.  Something Katch Kan has produced for over two decades.
Continuing with its leadership role in the petroleum industry, Katch Kan’s media entity, iKan Media did numerous interviews with innovators who are ready to carry the torch when it comes to cleaning up the industries reputation with it’s opponents. One of the company’s highlighted is MycoRemedy. Its product has been referred to by Alberta Oil magazine as “among the most cost-effective and environmentally friendly remediation options for tailings producers.”
